Since 1949, Sallop Insurance has maintained a specialty property and casualty insurance program for clients in the field of long-term care. This program addresses our clients’ general and professional healthcare liability exposures, “all risk” property insurance and business interruption exposures of their facilities. Sallop was instrumental in the design of this comprehensive program and the coverages it provides.

Sallop has worked diligently on behalf of its clients since the program’s inception:

• Keeping the preferred “occurrence liability form” available to Massachusetts facilities and preventing the addition of exclusionary wording that would remove core defense protection for allegations of abuse.
• Working alongside claims adjusters and defense counsel to better equip them in protection of their clients.
• Offering seminars to long-term care providers that focus on the areas of operation that create risk.
•  Educating attorneys specializing in healthcare law on drafting the insurance portion of a contract so it will be supported by policies available in the traditional marketplace.

In the specialty field of organ and tissue procurement, Sallop is proud to represent more clients that any other agent or broker in the country. Similar to the specialty property and casualty insurance program above, Sallop was instrumental in the creation of this nationwide program;

• Manuscripting insurance policies designed specifically for organizations involved in the procurement and processing of organs and tissues in order that coverage triggers mirrored industry practice.
• Working with the members of AOPO (Association of Organ Procurement Organization) for over thirteen years to help create risk management policies and procedures associated with that industry
• Established lines of communication between the clients and carriers to achieve symmetry, responsiveness, and expeditious claim resolution.
